BANYUWANGI – Allegedly the result of illegal logging, 82 teak wood log units with sizes 2 meters secured by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Siliragung Police in the Perhutani RPH Karangharjo area, Sumber Manggis Hamlet, Barurejo Village, Siliragung District, Banyuwangi Regency.
Reported from Timesbanyuwangi, not only securing evidence in the form of dozens of teak logs, The police also managed to secure one grandong vehicle (assembled truck) used by the perpetrators to transport wood.
Siliragung Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Bripka Eko Siswanto said, one person named Asun Bin Sariman (53) caught. However, six other people managed to escape.

Eko said, the arrest of the perpetrators of illegal logging after receiving information from the community that at the edge of the forest there were several people lifting dozens of teak wood onto vehicles.

Meanwhile, for investigative purposes, The perpetrator who was caught was immediately taken to the Siliragung Police for questioning.
“The perpetrator is suspected of violating Article 12 (1) letter d, e, k, j, h and chapter 83 (1) letter A, b, c UU RI no 18 year 2013 on preventing and eradicating forest destruction,” strictly.
