The case of alleged sexual intercourse with a minor shocked the residents of Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi, East Java.
Residents caught a young man who was raping his old girlfriend 15 in the middle of a coffee plantation.
Pesanggaran Police Chief, AKP Subandi said, This case was revealed to have started with two residents who wanted to fish in a river near a coffee plantation, Sunday (27/6/21) around 20.00 WIB.
But in the middle of the road, they heard a scream from the middle of the pitch-dark plantation. The witness then looked for the source of the sound.
“So this witness heard a woman's scream from the middle of the coffee plantation,” said AKP Subandi when confirmed by journalists, Tuesday (29/6/21).
What a surprise, the witness found two lovebirds having sex on a motorbike parked in the middle of the garden.
The witness immediately secured the couple and took them to the house of the local village officials.
After calling the victim's parents, cases of sexual intercourse with minors were immediately reported to the Pesanggaran Police Headquarters.
The police immediately examined the witnesses, including perpetrators and victims.
The police also escorted the victim for a post mortem examination. After getting solid evidence, The police immediately named the perpetrator as a suspect and threw him into the detention cell.
"We have succeeded in securing the perpetrator with the initials AN (22) and we have named him as a suspect. The suspect is a resident of Tegalrejo Village, Tegalsari District," say
The evidence that was secured was in the form of the victim's clothes, offender's clothes, two cellphone units belonging to the victim and the perpetrator, and visa results.
To take responsibility for his actions, the suspect is charged with Article 76 D Jo Pasal 81 verse 1 RI Law No. 35 year 2004 changes to Law No 23 year 2002 about Child Protection.
“The threat of punishment is minimal 5 years and max 15 years of imprisonment," he concluded. (ozi/ark)
